Once you have reserved our villa for your vacation, we will give you all of the travel information and technical assistance needed to make your trip run smoothly. We are seasoned travelers and are glad to share our knowledge. A US passport is required to travel to Costa Rica. Most major airlines fly to the Juan Santamaria International Airport in the capital city of San Jose ( airport code: SJO ). Flight time is about 5 hours from Newark, 3 hours from Miami or Houston. Once in San Jose, there are 3 ways to get to our villa at the Los Delfines Golf and Country Club at Playa Tambor. One method is to take an airplane operated by Nature Air ( www.natureair.com) or by Sansa Airline ( www.flysansa.com ). This is the quick way, 30 minutes from San Jose to Playa Tambor. The airstrip is located next door to Los Delfines. Car rental is available in the area. The second mode of transportation is to rent a car in San Jose ( all major car rental companies are located at the airport ), drive to the town of Punteranas ( 2 hours ), take a car ferry ( 1 ½ hours ) and drive the final 30 minutes to Los Delfines. We prefer this method as it gives us the opportunity to see the country and its beauty. The ferry leaves every 2 hours, is very safe and provides a breath taking view of the Costa Rican coastline and the mountains. We will provide you with a very detailed description of a straight forward trip. The third method is to take a once a day shuttle from San Jose to Los Delfines. This shuttle bus is operated by Los Delfines and Barcelo Resorts. Of course prices vary depending on your choice of transportation. Remember we assist you in all of your traveling plans.
